“Reel” Estate Fishing Report for The San Juan Islands
Posted on January 16th, 2012
Fishing out in the San Juan Islands has been pretty slow overall. The Black mouth Salmon opener was December 1st and from our reports it was pretty hit & miss. We did have 1 favorable report from over at Point Thompson (north end of Orcas Island) a lucky fisherman hit the jackpot and landed 8 fish in 4 hours ranging from 10-20 pounds, unfortunately they were all native fish and had to be released.
This is pretty typical for the December fishery but as we get to the latter part of January expect the reports to heat up. Alden Bank outside sandy point was hot January 25 to 30th last year. The Reel Estate boat landed 25 salmon in 3 trips so or to search for homes in the Bellingham and Whatcom County area visit , your one stop Bellingham real estate and community information resource!
